That said, I would be fully aware that Mormonism is going to compel even the best of them to do some truly horrendous stuff at times. I am dating a wonderful man, amazing. I think it might be worth trying. A straight-laced, returned sister missionary, raised in the cult, and in family of similarly entrenched cult members, will not likely remain happy with a non-member. I'm not saying you shouldn't pursue the relationship, but I'd only recommend marrying her if she leaves the church because she discovers it's not true. For the first time in my life, at age twenty-seven, I am in a relationship that is good and loving and serious enough that I believe it may lead to marriage. Never ask vague questions and give her definite options instead. A quiet, hard working immigrant but dedicated and faithful.
I was off travelling the world when I met and fell madly in love with a deployed Marine. Marriage to the wrong person is extremely difficult. Certainly there are such people in the church, but there are such people in any organization, and I would challenge you to remember that the members are also individuals with thoughts, feelings and the ability to rebel in their own ways. I think it's very helpful that I wasn't nearly as busy for most of our relationship thus farwe got engaged before I got absurdly busy and so it's not like we weren't extremely close. Already answered Not a question Bad question Other. Again, I deeply love my dad, but these were things that I had to deal with. Please realize I know how the church works, was extremely active and raised good kids. I'd just like to add that unless you're happy being with her as a full believing Mormon, don't stick around in the hopes that she'll de-convert. Trying to maintain a long-distance relationship with someone at home or attempting to date someone you meet while on mission are both distractions. Then, do any of the above morsels of advice matter. Plan on rolling your eyes A LOT at family get torturers together. You can ask her directly, or through sources like other Mormons or reading their books. What goes on in those sacred temples.
I hope he wised up. And after years of this struggle, will your love for him and desire to avoid the hassle cause you to reduce your activation. I agree she should be able to watch a movie or do her own research. After being in relationship with him for 3 years, he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. Anyway, you got yourself a treasure. It's a foolish dream I suppose. It was not just frustrating but also saddening and stressful. Everyone has their own sins and impure thoughts they need to overcome.
